His eyes are shining and the smile that’s warming his face is open and loving and meant only for me.

I smile in return.

Not because today is any more special than yesterday or tomorrow - the nineteenth or the twenty-first - it makes no odds to me. No, I smile because I want to see the light in his eyes grow that little bit brighter, see him glow that little bit more. To make him realise that every day of my life is special - because I share it with him.
